SYMBIOSIS

2023

Tapestries, hanging installations

Inspired by the work of Ernst Haeckel; Art forms in nature, in her works Ela Leko emphasizes color and symmetrical form. The triangle, which she takes as an initial geometric figure, manages to shake its assigned regularity. Using a variety of fabrics such as artificial leather, upholstery fabric and velvet, the ubiquitous triangle figure becomes dynamic and fluid. The sense of movement is further emphasized by the chosen colors. The author "breaks" the prevailing blue color and its coldness by introducing pink and orange. The combination of fabric and contrasting colors creates a visual effect that reminds us of sea creatures or animals in motion.
