SUTRA ĆE BITI BOLJE

2023-2025

Tapestry

This work is an act of disassembly and reassembly, a process through which the artist pieces herself back together. Each stitch becomes a fragment of thought, a memory stitched into the fabric. Tracing the shape, cutting it apart, and then methodically stitching it back together—this is where transformation happens. At first, by shaping and cutting by hand, the artist peels back layers, uncovering what lies beneath. Then comes the reconstruction, the healing—stitch by stitch, seam by seam, she rebuilds herself.

The stitching of thousands of triangles into one unified whole mirrors the process of self-formation. The work becomes a personal diary, a phase of detachment from the old self and the emergence of someone new. Sewn into the seams are fragments of fear, experience, and connection—a tangible embodiment of renewal.

Through the act of deconstruction and reconstruction, the thread becomes both a wound and a remedy, unraveling and mending at the same time. This is not just fabric—it is a story of self-discovery, of breaking apart and coming back stronger.
